Real Madrid completed their third preseason game with a third consecutive victory, recording a 2-0 win over SK Slavia Praha. Slavia Praha tested Madrid with a compact 4-4-2/4-4-1-1 mid-block; one of the front two tried to mark the pivot while the rest of the shape stayed narrow and denied passes through the middle.

ARSENAL, HAMMERS SNUBBED FOR LEVERKUSEN MOVE

The London duo of Arsenal and West Ham United were snubbed by young Czech Republic star Adam Hlosek following his move to German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen earlier this month. The teenage attacker left Sparta Prague in the Czech Republic top flight to sign for Leverkusen. Hlosek is widely regarded as one of the most promising young forwards in Czech Republic in recent times.


Hlosek made over 100 appearances for Sparta Prague before his move to Bayer Leverkusen was officially confirmed at the start of this month. West Ham United and Arsenal were interested in him before his transfer to Leverkusen. Hammers boss David Moyes has a strong Czech connection in his team with the likes of Alex Kral, Vladimir Coufal and Tomas Soucek. CZECH STAR FUELS CITY TITLE CHARGE

Czech Republic defender Vladimir Coufalfuelled the Premier League title charge for defending champions Manchester Cityafter he scored the second goalfor the Citizensby putting through his own net. The own goal from Czech Republic right-back ensured that Manchester City came from two goals down to secure a draw against London team West Ham United via a 2-2 draw.


Manchester City came into the West Ham game with the quest to get the win that would take the Premier League holders closer to retaining their title. In-form Jarrod Bowen scored the first goal of the game on 24 minutes before he doubled the advantage on the stroke of half-time. The former Hull City star was the difference between the two teams at the end of the first 45 minutes. CZECH DUO FEATURE IN LEICESTER DRAW

The Czech Republic duo of Tomas Soucek andVladimir Coufal featured in the West Ham United starting XI during the 2-2 draw with hosts Leicester City in the Premier League last weekend. Czech Republic seniornational team right-back Coufal was substituted for Ryan Fredericks midway into the second half after he was given a torrid time by Leicester City winger Harvey Barnes. On his part, Czech Republic international Soucekwas on for the entire duration of the league match which took place at the King Power Stadium.

West Ham United are one of the many teams chasing a place in  the top-four places alongside London rivals Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in addition to Wolves and Manchester United. The Hammers took the lead against Leicester City through the in-form Jarrod Bowen on ten minutes. West Ham United held on to that advantage until the final minute of the first half when left-back Aaron Cresswell handled the ball in the box and he was punished by Leicester City midfielder YouriTielemans from the resulting penalty to ensure that the two teams went into the break on level terms.

COUFAL SENT OFF IN ARSENAL WIN

Czech Republic right-back Vladimir Coufalsaw red for West Ham United as they went down to a London Derby defeat at the hands of hosts Arsenal in the Premier League. The West Ham right-back was sent off midway into the second half after two yellow cards and his exit put an end to hopes of getting something out of the game for his team.

Arsenal had the better of the first half and they came closest to scoring when Scottish left-back Kieran Tierney hit the post with a long range shot that was saved by Hammers goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski. West Ham United were fortunate to go into the break on level terms and it took the Gunners just three second half minutes to break the deadlock thanks to the in-form Gabriel Martinelli who received a pass from Alexandre Lacazette before driving into the Hammers box and unleashing a curling shot into the back of the net afterwards. It was no more than Arsenal deserve as they had been the better side clearly since the start of the game.

REVEALED: WHY WILLIAN REJECTED SLAVIA PRAGUE’S OFFER

Former Arsenal star Willian may have only sigefor Brazil Serie A side Corinthians but he rejected a lot of offers from some other clubs in doing so. After falling down the pecking order at the Emirates Stadium, the Brazilian winger knee that the best thing he could do was to seal a move to another club as it was the best thing for him as well.

Arsenal were also keen to let go of the player as they wanted to cut down on llgsr wages given that Willian was one of the highest earners at the club following his move from Chelsea a couple of months ago. SPURS TO RIVAL EVERTON FOR SCHICK

North London giants Tottenham Hotspur will rival Merseyside club Everton for the signature of Bayer Leverkusen striker Patrik Schick who was sensational for the Czech Republic at Euro 2020. Everton were the first club linked with the former AS Roma attacker before they were joined by Spurs.

The report from Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sport stated that Schick would cost at least €40m thus giving Leverkusen a €12m profit after they paid Roma €28m to sign the player last summer.

SOUCEK IMPRESSES FOR WEST HAM

Czech Republic international player Tomas Soucek has been one of the standout players for West Ham United in their bid to secure Champions League football at the end of the season. He continued his good form for the Hammers in the latest win over Leicester City at the weekend.

The Czech Republic player provided the assist for the winning goal in the 3-2 win over fellow Champions League chasers Leicester City at home.
