Czech Republic and Iceland leads Group A

Czech Republic along with Iceland are the leaders of Group A of the 2016 Euro’s qualifications with both nations having collected a total of 9 points out of the opening 3 matches which has been played. However, according to the coach of the Czech Republic national football team it has been a difficult and rather lucky road for his squad.

On October 10 Czech Republic battled against Turkey in a match that appeared to be going in favor of Turkey as they took the early lead at the 8th minute and it was the Turkish team that was dominating the match from start until the end with the upper hand of possession.

UmutBulut managed to slip into the defence of Czech Republic unmarked and the player of Galatasaray connected with a cross before heading it into the net of PetrCech.

Tomas Sivok tied the match 1-1 at the 16th minute and Czech managed to take the lead for the first time in the entire game in the 2nd half when BorekDockal scored with a close range shot.

The scoreboard was not displaying what was going on in the pitch as Turkey was the team that was dominating the match with more shots on target and continuously pressuring their opponents but the Turkish side was not able to capitalize on their chances at goal but the efforts from Turkey were either just missed or saved by PetrCech who made a sublime performance in this match.

The coach of Czech Republic, PavelVrba is well aware that his team had a touch of luck in this game which helped them on securing the victory and when the match was over Vrba had a few things to say concerning their latest victory.

“Me and my team are so happy about the result. We were so lucky, especially in the first half, because we couldn’t get organized and Turkey had a lot of chances. We’re so lucky that we didn’t concede more than once. But in the second half we were better organized, we created more chances, and finally we scored’’PavelVbra said after the match ended.

Iceland and Czech Republic are the current leaders of Group A but Czech Republic’s PavelVbra stated that Netherlands are still favorites of reaching the top and things are far from over.
